New LJ theme for me

Hey, just playing around here for a few minutes and thought I'd try a new theme.  I was going to choose the SF cityscape but apparently it isn't available to me (since I'm too cheap to pay for an account). ;-)  Next best thing was Seattle since I'm a NW girl (although it would be more appropriate for DJF!).  Anyway, it's kinda fun to have a new look.  Who knows how long it will last!

Ok, back to work.  Later!

Internet issues....

So, is anyone else having crazy internet issues today?  It seems like every site I've tried to visit today loaded verrrry slowly or not at all.   Kind of annoying.  Of course, not a big deal in the whole grand scheme of things, I suppose.  Just curious if it was only me.

Ok, bye for now!  Back to work (or at least the appearance of work). ;-)

I couldn't believe my eyes today!

As we exited Baja Fresh after eating our lunch today, I couldn't help but laugh out loud at the sight (and wished for my camera).  Sitting there in a little white Toyota-or-something four-door sedan were three full-grown Dalmatians...one in the front passenger seat, and one in each place in the back seat.  All three of them were sitting up in exactly the same position - it was quite cute!!

We're going over to friends this evening for dinner.  My back went out on me this morning while I was getting dressed for church, so for now I think I'm going to take another Motrin and lay down for a bit before we have to leave.

Happy Easter!!

Ok, so for the last two days it's been 75 degrees (F) here in my part of Oregon!!  Now today we woke up to another spring shower - sheesh!  Guess I really should have washed my car yesterday - dang!! ;-)  Oh well, I'm sure I can find other things to do today; there's a list around here somewhere. Ugh.

Enjoy your Saturday!!

Hi everyone!  I'm still in Vancouver for one more day and then I'll head home on Wednesday (*sniff*).  I'm trying to get my convention experiences written down, but so far I'm only up to Friday - whew!  Sooooo much happened during the weekend, which I'm sure you've already read about from those who must have stayed up alllll night keeping their journals up-to-date.  Anyway, here's the link to my blog, in case you're interested.

That's all for the moment.  Bye for now! :-)

Greetings from Vancouver!

I'll be attempting to post in my con blog - www.oregonjen.blogspot.com - as often as possible during this crazy, busy convention weekend.  We had a fun time today...so far...but it's only just beginning.  Tonight is the GW dinner and Creation's welcome party.  Have already seen several friends from previous years, so that's been great!  Time to get dressed and ready for tonight's festivities - gotta run!  Bye for now! :-D

Today's the day!!! :-D

It's 6:30 AM and today's the day - I'll be on the road to Vancouver as soon as I finish packing, grab a shower and have a bite of breakfast!  Feeling a little tired this morning, but I'm sure it's nothing that steady doses of caffeine along the way won't solve! ;-)

I trust Mr. and Mrs. Deeds and Seshat have arrived safely at the Hilton yesterday - can't wait to see you tonight!  Actually, I'm anxious to see everyone who will be there!!  With that in mind, I guess I'd better scurry off and finish things up so I can get out the door!!

See you in Vancouver!  (Or here, as I attempt to post con goings-on in all the free time we'll have - HA!!) ;-)

Bye for now!!!
:-D

(The "mood" thingy should say "exhausted, but excited" but since I have to choose......)

The morning after??

Woke up feeling a little shaky and a lot tired after caffeine-induced lack of sleep last night.  Went to bed at about 3:30 and got up at 6:30 AM - ugh.  Need to make a salad for a little luncheon thing at work today so I had to get up so I can get that ready (and I'd better get chopping!).  Plus had to get up just to get to work - perhaps even on time for a change.

Hope everyone has a great day and those making final travel preparations are able to get everything done.  See you in Vancouver very soon!

:-D

Countdown to Vancouver!! :-D

Jen-Granville 3-2007

I just thought I'd post a quickie as I get ready for my trip to Vancouver, BC.  I'll hit the road on Wednesday morning for the drive north to begin a week of fun and adventures with my wonderful Stargate friends! It's going to be great - two set visits, multiple photo-ops with some of the great folks who work on the SG shows, a few other surprises, and time to hang out and have fun with friends who love the shows. So much fun to be had; a great week away from work; a road trip in my new car - I can hardly wait!!!

Of course, I have to get through the next two days of work and get all the last-minute details taken care of (like packing!!!) in the next two evenings. So, I'd better sign off for now and see if there's anything I can finish up tonight (hmm....it's 3:00 AM now, so I guess that's not too likely...sigh). The caffeine's working, but the initiative isn't so much.  I see much coffee in my future to get through work tomorrow (er...today?).

More to posting to come once I'm in Vancouver...hopefully!

Blessings,
Jennie :-)

Feeling puny :-(

Well, I spent yesterday and today home from work due to some kind of stomach issues.  Tuesday night was the worst (I'll spare you the details) and I've been eating pretty light for the past couple of days for fear of setting things off again.  Felt kind of achy and slept on and off most of the day yesterday.  Not so tired today, but tummy still a little borderline.  I think (hope!) things have turned the corner maybe this afternoon - good thing, too, because I'm supposed to go away for the weekend.

Anyway, counting down the days til Vancouver (just like everyone else!) and excited about news today that Cliff has been added to the roster.  I'd better start getting my act together pretty soon --- I can hardly wait!!!

See ya!

ROAD TRIP!!!

Jen-Granville 3-2007
Ok, so I mentioned that I was driving down to California this past weekend to attend the ADB showing in San Jose with Michelle and her sister.  Well, it was a GREAT trip and the movie was hilarious!!  I think I laughed nearly constantly from beginning to end.  In addition, David and Jane were there!!  They did a short Q&A after the movie and then we had to clear the theater for the next movie to be shown.  (ADB was part of a film festival going on down there.)

David and Jane graciously greeted people out in the lobby area of the theater afterwards and thankfully there wasn't a really long line.  David signed autographs and did photos, so we waited patiently for our turn.  Michelle kindly used her camera to take pics of all of us with David - first a shot with her and her sis with David, then I joined the group.

For me, the funnest (is that a word?) surprise was that David recognized ME!! LOL!!  He has a MySpace (is that a noun?) and I had sent him several messages there telling him I was driving 600 miles to come see his movie! ;-)  My messages had my photo (see above) so when he saw me he was like, "Oh, Hi! You made it!"  Then he asked me how the roads were and how the drive down was - frankly, it took me a few seconds to realize...omigosh, he actually READ my messages!!! :-D  He was so sweet.  And when Michelle asked if I wanted a pic with just David and me, he kindly agreed to stay just one more minute, even though they were trying to leave to go to dinner with a friend.  (I'll share the pic once Michelle sends it to me!)

I'm sooooo glad I made the crazy drive down for the weekend (and grateful to Michelle for hosting me) - we had a great time and it was such fun to have the opportunity to meet David.  What a great way to really begin the windup for the Vancouver convention - only 16 days from now!!!

But for now...off to get ready for work.

Hitting the road...

I can't believe it, but I'm doing it - I'm driving down to California today to see ADB with Chelle and Co! :-O  I know it will be great fun and an adventure - it's just one of those little crazy things that amaze me when I do them.  Anyway, I know I'm rambling because I'm rushing to write this while I inhale some breakfast --- I wanted to be GONE from here an hour ago! Yikes!!

So, I'm signing off for now - gotta get out the door ASAP!!  Be back Sunday night - see ya!!

Really??

I can't believe I'm actually considering this.  I'm seriously thinking - heck, I've all but decided - I will get into my car tomorrow morning and drive for about 600 miles south to Chelle's house so that we can go see ADB in San Jose on Saturday afternoon???  I kept saying to my husband this morning, "I'm crazy - you think I'm crazy to do this don't you?"  He kept telling me he didn't and that he thought I should do it - it would be fun.  (I know his real motive - he lets me do this and then the next time he wants to do something like buy an old car with "potential" he'll conveniently remind of this trip....ok, maybe not - he's not generally that kind of guy.)

Now, if I can just hook up with Chelle again sometime today - she seems to have disappeared (from MSN anyway).  Maybe she thought better of her invitation and left town to avoid me?? ;-)  (Kidding....um, I hope?)

So, if all goes well I will be on the southbound road to California at this time tomorrow morning.  I can't believe I'm actually considering this.

:-)

I'm a happy girl :-D

Hooray! Hooray! Hooray!!!!!! :-D

In yesterday's mail, two envelopes from Creation Entertainment arrived containing my beautiful Gold Pass (I really do think it's pretty this year) with the correct seat number (yay!!) and the tickets for the Thursday night welcome party, the Sunday set tour and the Sunday lunch.  Plus, the invoice acknowledged the purchase of my photo-ops (emails to come later, I realize), so now I feel relieved about that too.  Whew!

So, three weeks from today - 21 days - I'll be pulling out of my driveway and hitting the road north to Vancouver, BC for a week of fun with my wonderful Stargate friends.  Oh, I almost literally quivered as I typed that...or maybe it's the coffee I just finished? ;-)  Woohoo!!!! I'm going to Van-cou-ver!  I'm going to Van-cou-ver!!!!!! :-D

But for now, I'm reaalllllly late for work so I'd better scoot.  Catchya later!

Well, we did it!

Greetings on this windy, stormy Tuesday morning! (At least at the moment here in Oregon....)

Well, as the subject line says, we did it!  On Saturday, we finally took the plunge and bought a new car!  We've been talking about it for several months, and doing our best to do research on various makes and models.  Our current car, while in good condition and still running pretty well, has 170K miles on it and is coming up on 11 years old so we felt it was time to replace it before something drastic went wrong.

So... here's what we decided to get. :-)

So, in case you ever wondered about my sanity, perhaps now you have more evidence one way or the other (I'll let you decide!).  In the meantime, I hope you all have a fabulous day.  I'm off to the eye doctor in a while and then to work.

Bye for now,
Jennie :-)

Happy Friday!

Greetings!

I'm having such a laaaazy morning.  Woke up at kind of normal time, but then dozed off and on for the next couple of hours.  I just can't seem to get going - still sitting here in my PJ's watching morning TV (Today, Rachel Ray, and now Live! and at noon it'll be What Not to Wear). ;-)  I do have some things in mind to accomplish today, but we'll see if I can drag my lazy self off the couch before the day is completely gone!

Oh, I can hardly stand it that Vancouver is sooo close now - I think it's just a month from this coming Wednesday that I'll be hitting the road north to the land of Stargate!  Wheee!! :-D  I need to start thinking more seriously about things to pack, whether to bring anything special to have signed, what to do in the non-con event times....oh my, so much to do, so much to do!! *quivers*

And today I have to come up with my favorite SG episode for [info]seshat - this is NOT a simple challenge, but I promise to narrow it down to one in order to give you an answer.  (Hmm...so many choices...yikes!)  But it will be fun thinking through them...maybe I'll even have to re-watch a few of them...purely for research purposes, of course! ;-)

I hope you all have a great day and fabulous long weekend if you get Monday off for the holiday.

Hugs,
Jennie :-)

A weekend at the beach...

Hi Kids!

I just finished lunch and now I need to finish getting packed and load up my car.  I'm headed to the coast for a "scrapbooking retreat" - my first one!  It might sound weird - a group of women sitting around in a beach house sticking photos on pages to create scrapbooks for various events.  I used to avoid the actual scrapbooking - too much gobbledegook just to create a photo album.  But in the meantime I started a scrapbook on last year's Vancouver convention and I started to have a little more fun with it.  This weekend, however, I'm starting a brand new project - the last vacation hubby and I took in 2000 with my dad about a year before he died.  We'll see how far I get - I'm really slow at putting my pages together, especially compared to the scrapbooking "pros" I'll be hanging out with this weekend.  I don't mind being slow though - it just takes me a while to get the creative juices flowing!! ;-)

Anyway, I hope you all have a great weekend.  I'll be home Sunday night, so hubby's on his own alllllll weekend! :-O (Just kidding - I'm not afraid!)  Ohh, another bonus is that there's a factory outlet mall in the same town where I'll be staying - hee, hee, hee! ;-)

Ok, gotta scoot.  Bye for now!

Blessings,
Jennie :-)

Being a lazy slug today....

It's true!  I'm being such a lazy slug today.  I had plans...no, really.  Phone calls to make.  Shopping to do.  Better food to eat and exercise to do.  Sigh.

But it's been a crazy week.  Waaaaay too much caffeine and too little sleep.  Baaad eating and no exercise.  A huge work project (major data entry) that I barely finished on time.  I find myself feeling pretty wiped out today, in spite of the things I wanted to get done. :-/

Ah well, at least there are two more days in the weekend - maybe I'll have more energy tomorrow.  I really do need to run a couple of errands before the day is over however.  Guess I should spend more time getting ready to do them instead of surfing the Internet, eh?

Hope you're all having a wonderful day!

Blessings,
Jennie :-)
